Until the year 2000, the license agreement for an Intersection Magic purchase was for one physical building. After 2000, the license agreement is for one department in one physical building.
The Intersection Magic license statement is as follows:

This software is the property of Pd’ Programming, Inc. and is protected by both United States Copyright Law and international treaty provisions. You are entitled to a site license to use this software. You are licensed to use one copy of this software on each machine within one physical building and single department that your office is in. In addition, the imwedit – data entry module may be installed and used in one additional building or department. Also, any user who has a primary computer that is located within the physical building that holds the site license, may also install an identical copy of the program on a laptop for their exclusive use while away from their primary computer. With the exception of the two cases stated above, no copies may be removed from this site. You must treat this software as you would any published material protected by the Copyright Law with the following single exception: PdÕ Programming, Inc. authorizes you to make archival copies of the software for the sole purpose of backing-up our software and protecting investment from loss. Use of this software implies your acceptance of the terms of this License Statement.
Please note that ArcView, often sold with or used with Intersection Magic has a per-seat licensing policy. Please refer to ESRI’s licensing policy for ArcView for more information.
This is the most limited license. It is written with city jurisdictions in mind. Many counties and states have purchased licenses that are broader. If in doubt, please contact Pd’ Programming.
