Magic WandsTM - Tools for programmers
This is the toolkit you've been waiting for. Pd' Programming, the leading provider of crash analysis solutions for the past 15 years, has built a suite of tools ("Magic Wands") that will enable you to include industry standard collision diagrams and in-depth analysis reports as a part of your in-house or commercial application.Based on the de-facto standard Intersection Magic crash records analysis program, each lightweight Magic Wand, provides a specific function. Most wands are available as ActiveX, COM and Delphi components. In addition, the wands are being created with wrappers for Cold Fusion as well as ISAPI and NSAPI web server components.
Finally, the wands also include sample stand-alone executable applications for inclusion in applications that do not support any of the other technologies. Note: all wands are provided as binary code for the Microsoft Windows platforms. No other platform support is expected at this time. (.Net will be introduced in 2005)
The Magic Wand suite is the result of thousands of hours of development of the Intersection Magic product. We've extracted the core functionality in order to enable you, or your in-house developers to produce a complete crash records analysis product (or just fill in the missing pieces of your existing one). Since the suite is provided in small, function-specific pieces, you have the option of using the built-in logic for identifying locations; or use your own logic to gather the data and simply use the Magic Wands to display it.
The most exciting part of this new suite of tools is that it does away with importing and exporting of data. The entire Magic Wand suite uses Microsoft ADO technology to connect with your existing SQL data source. This includes most high-end databases such as Oracle and SQL Server, as well as any data source that provides a compatible ODBC driver.
- Collision Diagram Wand Available NOW!- Generate dynamic, high quality collision diagrams. These diagrams are enabled with callbacks and display hooks. They also support configurable schematics, labels, drag and drop collision graphics, and Intersection Magic style filters. Schematics are already available for intersections, segments and mid-blocks, route sections, and roundabouts. Create variations of these to support your data as needed.
- Report Wand - Generate summary and detail reports from your existing data. Reports include high crash location lists, frequency reports, cross tab reports, sliding spot reports, crash listings, crash reports and more.
- Map Wand - Generate ArcView compatible themes of your data. Create shape files, or use our built-in map window control to display the map in your own application. Map types include aggregate data pins, individual crash pins, and segment lines. The Map Wand even calculates the exact location using the distance and direction from the nearest intersection to place crashes on approaches and along segments.
- Chart Wand – Generate charts just like those in Intersection Magic. This includes a full range of 2D and 3D bar, pie and scatter charts, as well as a host of variations. The Chart Wand connects with the Collision Diagram Wand and Report Wand to make chart creation as easy as Magic.
- Utility Wands – A host of tools that provide Intersection Magic style filters; Report editing; Schematic editing; Configuration maintenance; etc.
