Notes:
If the local user has restricted access to files on their local hard disk, special steps must be taken to register the software.
If the local user has restricted access to files on their local hard disk, workarounds may be requred to enable map magic to function correctly. Generally, installation of the program by an administrator prevents any problems.
Windows XP and Windows Vista introduce new local security issues. For more information, please see:
Security Problems in Windows XP
Windows NT 3.5, NT 3.51
Intersection Magic will function correctly.
Pd' Programming fully supports use of Intersection Magic using Windows NT v3.x.
Windows 98
Intersection Magic will function correctly.
Pd' Programming fully supports use of Intersection Magic using Windows 95 and Windows 98.
Same notes as Windows 95.
Windows 95
Intersection Magic will function correctly.
Pd' Programming fully supports use of Intersection Magic using Windows 95 and Windows 98.
Notes:
All features related to ODBC are slightly more complex, as 16-bit ODBC must be installed, and Access database structures may note be modified if using Windows 95.
The files that hold the geocoding and prefered schematic information are limited to 64k under Windows 95 and Windows 98. This is usually not a problem, but should be noted.
Windows 3.11
Intersection Magic may function correctly.
Windows 3.11 is 16-bit. Intersection Magic is also 16-bit, however we have made many adjustments to enable the program to function properly in 32-bit environments, so 16-bit compatibility may have been lost.
Since none of our existing users runs Windows 3.11, it is no longer an officially supported IMW platform.
Solution:
If problems are encountered using the software under a supported operating system, please contact Pd' Programming technical support for assistance.
Notice that Windows ME is missing? That's not an accident. (no pun intended) We have clients using ME, but it is designed as a home system and is not guaranteed to run all aspects of Intersection Magic.
