Lyrical Time Wastr Instructions

Assumes I have created your mosaic for you

If you have created or want to create your own mosaic, see this thread.

So, you've jumped in there and started a song mosiac. You are a brave soul! No, seriously, these are fun but a lot of work. I am programming some time savers but it's slow going as I have to make a living on the side ;-)
If you have recived a message from me that your mosaic is finished, then the first thing you need to do is retrieve it from my stream and get it into yours. I will have made you a family member just so no one else fave's or comments on it while it's in my stream. I've instructed my real family members not to do that. If you don't see the mosaic, please search down a few pages. If you still don't see it let me know and I will confirm you are a temporary family member. Once you do spot the mosaic, click on "All Sizes" to get to the download page:

Once on the download page, make sure Original size is selected, then click on "Download the Original size:"

I usually just save to my desktop so I can quickly locate it later. Now you can use the Flicker Goodies tool to upload the photo to your account: Song Uploader. If you do, that will automatically save you the steps of adding a title, tags, and a description later. If you prefer the manual method, click on "Back to the Flickr photo page," then find and click on Upload in the Photos sub-header (as you normally would when uploading your own image). Make sure you check private so while you are working on it no one sees it in it's raw state! Now you should be the proud owner of your mosaic. Note the photo ID (found in the address bar betweenteh last 2 slashes while viewing the photo) for later. Great! Almost there.

Title
First, let's make the title consistent with the other song mosaics out there:
"Lyrical Time Wastr - SONG TITLE HERE".
Description
The description should read like this:
"ARTIST - SONG TITLE - (YEAR).

A Lyrical Time Wastr created with fd's Flickr Toys."

Copy and paste this if you like then just modify:
<b>ARTIST - SONG TITLE - (YEAR).</b> <br> A <a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/ltw/">Lyrical Time Wastr</a> created with <a href="http://flagrantdisregard.com/flickr/">fd's Flickr Toys</a>.

Where you would replace words in CAPS with the appropriate values for your mosaic.
Attribution
Add a comment, and paste in the attribution links (I will supply you with this). Next, copy the lyrics from your thread on LTW, and paste them below the attributions.

ARTIST
TITLE

Note: use double quotes when tagging with a multiple word.
Notes
You can add notes manually or try one of my timesavers: Notes Generatr BETA. This program will prompt for the photo ID (noted earlier), numbers of rows, columns, and border size in pixels (I always make mosaics 3px), then give you the edit boxes to add each note. Once you submit, it takes care of sizing and placing automatically. If you find this didn't work, please let me know. You can always add manually as well if you'd rather. I like to capture the entire song in all the notes. You can also just put the identifing noun that each picture represents if you wish. If you want to take it a step further, bold the noun (<b>NOUN</b>). Example: Somewhere beyond the sea.
License
Change the permissions from private to public, then from Copyright to: Attribution-Non-Commercial-No-derivs. To do this, click on the photo, scroll to the bottom right until you see "Additional properties." Click on "change," then look to the left of the page and you'll see "Add a license..." Click that and select Attribution-Non-commercial-No-derivs from the drop-down.
Post to groups
Post to the LTW group! Here are suggestions for other groups:

And any others you can think might be appropriate.
Let your contributors know
Last but not least, tell the folks that have helped you make your fine mosiac about their inclusion. First , go the the group and click on your mosaic. Copy the url that shows in the address bar:
(e.g. http://www.flickr.com/photos/YOU/YOUR PHOTO ID/in/pool-ltw/). Then you'll be able to click each of the attribution links in the comment and add a comment on the original photo like this:

"Your photo was chosen for a song mosaic!

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/YOU/YOUR PHOTO ID/in/pool-ltw/">ARTIST - TITLE</a>"

Do this for each of the contributors and then sit back and watch them shower you with accolades.

Here is an example of a finished song mosaic:

These are not hard and fast rules, but guidelines. We want the mosaics to be somewhat consistent, so do your best and ask me for help anytime.

Now that was a lot of hard work, but hopefully worth it...

Enjoy!
