Send chart data to ArcView

This is an enhancement to the sending of data to ArcView from the High Accident Locations list box, so be sure you know how to do that first. Note, during final testing prior to release of v6.5, there were a couple of problems related to this feature.  If you have problems using it, please check the knowledge base on our web site for specific instructions or patches to the program.

1.        From the ArcView Extension Interface dialog box, just before you click the "Theme" button, select the "include chart data" check box.  Choose a chart.  As an example, a chart on lighting conditions or injury severity produces nice results.
2.        Click the theme button as you normally would.  Intersection Magic will generate a diagram for each selected location before sending the data to ArcView.
3.        The resulting theme will look exactly like the ones you've already created.  It takes a couple of steps to create charts in ArcView.

4.        Note: During the writing of this documentation, it was found that this process is slowed substantially by a recent decision to load the diagrams using a special process.  Visit our web-site for an update to the program that will speed this process up quite a bit.
5.        Once the theme has been created and is available in ArcView, edit the legend by double clicking on it.  Change the theme "legend type" type to "chart".  You will be presented with a list of available fields on the left, which can be selected to be included on the right.

6.        Select each of the fields related to the chart that you sent over  and click the "add" button.  (i.e. Daylight, Dawn/dusk, Dark.)  Click on the "apply" button to display this theme as charts on the map.  At this point, you can now change attributes like the colors, sizes, scaling, etc using normal ArcView features.
