Processing a change streets file

Top  Previous  Next

Before beginning any street changes process Pd' Programming recommends that the database be backed up.

The streets changes process can be run in the streets manager. The streets manager is opened by selecting Utilities/Database/Streets manager from the drop down menu.

streets_mgr_chg_list

Streets manager window with the process street change list button circled.

To process a list of street changes click the Cng: list button under the Streets section of window. A caution windows will display to warn that this will make permanent changes to the database.  Select the street changes file. The window will then display the file to ensure the the correct file has been selected. Intersection Magic will then allow a dry run process. This will inform the user of any changes that will be made during the run. Once accepted the actual changes can be run.

After each run of street changes a dialog window will display the number of changes processed, the number of streets deleted, the number of streets added, the location and name of the log file(STCNG#.LOG). The log file should be reviewed to see the changes made, and if any errors that were encountered.

Note: A common error is to have a street defined as a bad street and further in the file the same street is defined as a good street. If such a condition exists in the street changes file Intersection Magic will record the error in the log file, and no changes will be made t the database.

Street changes can be processed automatically after importing new collision records.
