IMPORTANT: This section is provided for users who did not purchase a configuration with the program, or who would like to add to or modify the configuration which was provided by Pd' Programming. When a configuration is purchased, the program is sent with the files needed to define the database; import the data; locate the accidents on the diagram; draw the correct symbols; and print a basic accident list. Setting up a database from scratch, the section which follows, can be complicated. Please read this section completely before beginning.
IMW allows users to define up to 40 of their own fields for use (full use) in the program. The cost for this power is that the user must define these fields, and must define what each value within these fields means. These descriptions are contained in a Lookup file with the extension .LUC which is created from an ascii file with the extension .LUS. In order to represent accidents graphically, IMW associates some data fields and values with graphic objects. The user may add to this list of fields and graphics. The definition table for these user-defined graphics is found in a Object table file with the extension .TAB, which is edited in a .TBS ascii format and saved.
There is also an option file which enables the user to designate 'calculate fields' this file has the extension .CAL.
