Line charts

The Line type of chart shows trends or changes in data over a period of time.  This chart has several variations, in terms of how it can be displayed.  The variations below can be done through accessing the Options dialog box.

Lines:  points or data markers are not shown in this line chart.  This is the default line chart that will appear.  Changing it can result in the charts that are listed below.

Lines and Data Markers:  points or data markers are going to be shown in the line chart.  In order to show the data markers, select the Show Point Markers from the Options / Series dialog boxes.  These points can be displayed in several forms, rectangles, circles, triangles, marbles and cubes (3D-only).  Please refer to Point type on how to change the point forms or Show points on how to show the data markers.

3D Clustered Lines:  each line will be drawn as a three-dimensional figure and each series will have its own row.  This option is available from the Options / General dialog box but will not be visible unless a 3D chart is already selected.

3D Lines:  each line will be drawn as a three-dimensional figure. This option can be accessed from the toolbar or from the Options / 3D View dialog boxes.

Step Lines:  lines are painted as steps at every point.  Also supported in 2D mode and applicable to scatter charts.
