Creating the database files:

This process will be done every time you want to create a new database or to overwrite an existing one. To create the database files, select the Utilities, Database, Create menu options. It will ask you if your database should include Milepost, Hundred Block and Node indexes. If you don't know, just select all of these. It will also ask you if you want to swap streets. If you are using a grid-based coordinate system rather than street or route names, you will want to disable the swap streets option. Most users will want swap streets enabled. Then it will ask you for a four-letter database name give it your CITY name. This will result in the following files:
