Bar charts

The Bar chart is the most commonly used chart which show differences over a period of time.  This chart has several variations, in terms of how it can be displayed.  The variations below can be done through accessing the Options dialog box.

_bm45

Simple Column Chart:  shows the data markers with a space between categories.  It is the default for bar charts.  You can access this chart from the Options / General dialog boxes.  The chart viewed here requires multiple data sets with the 3D Cluster box not checked.

Color Each Bar:  shows the data markers in different colors (or patterns) with a space between categories.  To toggle between using unique colors or just using one color select the Charts / View / Unique Color menu options.  See also Unique colors.

Stacked:  each series is positioned above the previous one, adding its value to the stacked bar.  The Stacked Style option can be accessed from the Options / General dialog boxes.

100% Stacked:  each series is positioned above the previous one, adding its value to the stacked bar and calculating the percentage that each series represents of the whole part (or category).  The Stacked Style option can be accessed from the Options / General dialog boxes.

Joined Bars:  same as simple column chart, only that there's no gap between the series (or bars).  You can access this chart from the Options / General dialog boxes.  The chart viewed here requires multiple data sets with the 3D Cluster box not checked, and the Marker Volume all the way to the right setting.

3D Bars:  same as simple column chart, only that the bars are drawn three-dimensional.  The chart viewed here requires multiple data sets with the 3D Cluster box not checked.  Changing it from 2D to 3D can be done from the toolbar or the Options / 3D View dialog box.

3D Stacked:  same as stacked, only that the bars are drawn three-dimensional.  The Stacked Style option can be accessed from the Options / General dialog boxes.  Changing it from 2D to 3D can be done from the toolbar or the Options / 3D View dialog box.

3D 100% Stacked: same as 100% stacked, only that the bars are drawn three-dimensional.  The Stacked Style option can be accessed from the Options / General dialog boxes.    Changing it from 2D to 3D can be done from the toolbar or the Options / 3D View dialog box.

3D Joined Bars:  same as Joined Bars chart only that the bars are drawn three-dimensional.  You can access this chart from the Options / General dialog boxes.  The chart viewed here requires multiple data sets with the 3D Cluster box not checked, and the Marker Volume all the way to the right setting.

3D Clustered Bars:  every series has its own row in the chart.  This option can be accessed from the Options / General dialog boxes.  The chart viewed here requires multiple data sets and must be a 3D chart before 3D Cluster will be available.

3D Clustered/Joined Bars: same as 3D clustered only that the bars are drawn together, with no space between categories.  The chart viewed here requires multiple data sets and must be a 3D chart before 3D Cluster will be available.  To join the bars move the Marker Volume all the way to the right under the Options / General dialog boxes.

_bm56

3D Show-Zero: this type of chart is used when you have negative (less than zero) values in the chart. The starting point of all bars is zero. Therefore, you will have bars that go up and down (depending on their value). The chart viewed here requires multiple data sets.  Note: This chart is also available in 2D.
